My husband and I don't really go OUT on dates all that often. This is mostly due to the fact that we live alone and pretty much have date night every night. And also he just got home from a 7 month deployment and we both love having him at home so we are quite content staying in. But earlier today my husband sent me an email telling me he was taking me out for a date tonight and would give me details as the day progressed. He originally was supposed to go play basketball after work today with a friend, but decided that he would take me out instead. I have been kinda stuck at home lately and this nice gesture literally made my day. It feels great knowing I am important to him. So this leads into the question of the day... Make sure to ask the man you are marrying if he will continue to date you after the wedding. Even though we do not yet have children to escape, and have lots of alone time every night, it is super important that the courting continue after the vows have been said. In fact though it is not explicitly stated, I strongly believe that continued dating is a huge part of eternal relationships and part of our Heavenly Father's plan to ensure we not only have joy now, but forever. Gotta go get ready for my date! :)

ReplyDeletei feel that same way about how we're kind of always on dates. we did notice that even though we were together all day every day over christmas, it didn't feel like it. there was very little quality time, and i think being together all the time is similar to that. it can feel like we're not really close even though in proximity we are.
