Last week we traveled to California for Jax's baby blessing. A baby blessing is a really special thing in the Mormon church. It is not a baptism. That happens when children are 8 years old. In a blessing the child is presented to Heavenly Father and given a name (whatever the parents choose) and a blessing for his or her life. Generally this is done by the baby's father, but can be done by any male with the
Melchizedek Priesthood. It takes place in a regular church service and lots of friends and family come. Jax was blessed by his daddy, and it melted my heart. Definitely a proud moment for a wife and mother. It was a beautiful blessing that promised him much help and success in his life if he chooses to be faithful. My favorite part was a blessing of courage to always do what is right no matter what and the ability to know what the right thing is. Here are some pictures from the day:
All decked out in his dress whites for the occasion. The blanket was a gift from our friends. It is really special because it is from Bethlehem.
Outside the Church after the Blessing.
We love our little one.
Family photo. Last one in the backyard. I will miss that house.

Cousins with babies. Jax and Cal are a month apart. Can you guess who is older?
It was such a LONG day. Little got a bit cranky by the end.

Thank goodness for the continuous button on the camera. We were able to capture a couple little smiles.
Jax and Uncle Sam. :)
