The Easter Bunny Came to Town

I wanted to take Jax to see the Easter bunny this year, but with moving and being busy with tons of other stuff, we never had the time. It's ok though, because we have our own little bunny!

The Easter Bunny brought this boy some fun toys and sweet treats.

After church, where we were super lucky to have L. Tom Perry visiting, we had a little Easter Dinner at the park/pavilion in our neighborhood with some of the other families on the base we live on now. It was really fun and nice to be able to meet more people and make more friends.

Because of Him

I was working on an art project for our living room that represents our boys, but I've been searching the internet for some things to include and I can't get some thoughts out of my head so I guess its time to write them down.

Today is the Friday before Resurrection Sunday-known as Good Friday to many. It is the day in which Christ spent his last hours on earth as a mortal man. Many times I have thought about this selfless sacrifice of a man who had so much love for the world that He gave his life for them. And always I have been grateful. But in recent years, I have also started to really love and appreciate the sacrifice of his mother, Mary. A woman who accepted the huge task of being the mother to Christ and all that came with that. A woman who knew the plan and stuck by her boy until the very end. And a woman who better than anyone, remembers all the details and hours of Easter Friday and who it could be said also made a huge sacrifice that day. My heart aches for this beautiful woman who had to experience that. Even though her precious boy made it possible for her (and all of us) to see Him again, to be with Him forever as part of her family, I know that in that moment her heart was broken and she felt the immense pain that separation brings. I have felt her heart. And I love her so much for being there even though I know it was difficult.

I am so thankful for Christ and His sacrifice. I am thankful for Mary and her sacrifice in raising Jesus so that He could be the man to save the world. And I am so thankful that Because of Him I will not only get to see my little boy again, but I will get to be his mom forever. Easter Sunday, for me, is a day to look forward to my own resurrection and that of my loved ones, especially my sweet baby who I still think about every single day. What a day of happiness and rejoicing that will be when we get to be together again, and that is all possible Because of Him.

Happy Easter Weekend Everyone.

Spring is Here

We finally made it into DC (after 3 years) to see the Cherry Blossoms. We went on Monday for Family Night but I hear they were better on Sunday. It was pretty windy out so I believe that is probably true. But we were glad we went. It was nice to get out and the trees were still very beautiful.

Because every outing needs a selfie….

This was our fist attempt at a family selfie. It obviously did not go well.

We have a very dramatic child who has recently learned to throw tantrums. Whenever he wants something he isn't getting or doesn't want something he dramatically face plants into my chest, the floor, the bed…wherever he happens to be. Too bad for him, I just think its super funny.

It was CRAZY in DC (even though the festival is over and the peak days were also past) It was super hard to find parking and since other people were creating their own spots, we made our own too.
