I was working on an art project for our living room that represents our boys, but I've been searching the internet for some things to include and I can't get some thoughts out of my head so I guess its time to write them down.
Today is the Friday before Resurrection Sunday-known as Good Friday to many. It is the day in which Christ spent his last hours on earth as a mortal man. Many times I have thought about this selfless sacrifice of a man who had so much love for the world that He gave his life for them. And always I have been grateful. But in recent years, I have also started to really love and appreciate the sacrifice of his mother, Mary. A woman who accepted the huge task of being the mother to Christ and all that came with that. A woman who knew the plan and stuck by her boy until the very end. And a woman who better than anyone, remembers all the details and hours of Easter Friday and who it could be said also made a huge sacrifice that day. My heart aches for this beautiful woman who had to experience that. Even though her precious boy made it possible for her (and all of us) to see Him again, to be with Him forever as part of her family, I know that in that moment her heart was broken and she felt the immense pain that separation brings. I have felt her heart. And I love her so much for being there even though I know it was difficult.
I am so thankful for Christ and His sacrifice. I am thankful for Mary and her sacrifice in raising Jesus so that He could be the man to save the world. And I am so thankful that Because of Him I will not only get to see my little boy again, but I will get to be his mom forever. Easter Sunday, for me, is a day to look forward to my own resurrection and that of my loved ones, especially my sweet baby who I still think about every single day. What a day of happiness and rejoicing that will be when we get to be together again, and that is all possible Because of Him.
Happy Easter Weekend Everyone.
