from the hills of CA

So I decided it was time for an update...even though no one really looks at this blog. We just got the internet and I am very glad for that. I can finally do school instead of just sitting around the house thinking about how I can rearrange our boxes to look better. I have set them up several ways and I think there is nothing else I can do with them. Anyway, moving time was interesting. We had to pack up the car with all of David's things from his apartment and move up here. We got out of the car and were greeted by an old lady walking her cat. That is right, she had a cat on a leash and was taking it for a walk. I had to laugh. What was this place we were moving to? Anyway we eventually got all of his stuff moved in and mine finally showed up in the moving truck, though half of it was broken (sad face). The place is pretty nice. We went to the pool on friday evening and stumbled upon what we think was a type of pool party. Basically a bunch of middle aged women with a scattering of a couple younger men and ladies drinking beer and having odd conversations. David and I spread out on some chairs to read but were asked several times to join a game that involved throwing a multi colored beach ball as hard as possible at each other. Saturday was beach day. I got a tiny bit red but it has bronzed up nicely. So nice to not look exactly like a ghost...now I just look like a ghost with a tan. The ward here is great. We are still feeling a bit strange being the new kids on the block but I think we will adjust nicely. Anyway that should be enough for now. I am off to be a good wifey and cook dinner. :)

moving day coming soon...

Wow, I cant believe the moving truck is coming tomorrow. It all happened so fast and at the same time dragged on and on. I'm not very good at this blogging thing. I'm convinced I have nothing exciting to say but Dave assures me that I just have to say whats going on and that is interesting enough. So like I said the moving truck is coming to get my stuff tomorrow. I had to fit it all in a 4'x4' space which was pretty interesting. I can now say the contents of my life fit in four square feet. I have been trying to find us an inexpensive mattress but it looks like we will have to sleep on a borrowed air mattress for a few days which is seriously no fun. Those things totally deflate the second you enter good deep sleep. My flight isn't until Wednesday morning and I am getting super anxious. I just want to get there and get settled already. I will miss Provo and I will most definitely miss BYU but I am feeling better about moving on. I was pretty stressed and nervous for awhile but its starting to melt away. Life is funny sometimes. So many twists and turns. But that's what keeps it interesting.

Still Under Construction...

This blog is definitely a work in progress. And if I didnt realize that already I have a wonderful husband who likes to remind me that it is. Im still trying to figure out how to put cool stuff on it and make it look cute. Im not too computer saavy. He thinks blogging will be good for me, one of the big reasons I am sitting her typing something. He seems to be the big reason I do a lot of things but that seems to be how married life goes and I love him so i dont mind. Only thirteen more days until I move to California. Im super excited but im also pretty nervous about having to find a new job and meet new people. I love Provo and BYU but its a good time for me to leave. Finishing school online will be quite the task but I am up for it. I guess that is enough about me for today. Maybe next time I will write something about us doing something together. But who knows, I might get back to this before 13 days is up.

Just the Beginning...

It is my understanding that newly married couples have some sort of odd obligation to at least try blogging. Not exactly sure what that is about and I'm not completely sold on the blogging thing but I decided to give it a go anyway. I sorta figure if people really wanted to know what was going on they would just pick up the phone and call...but then I might not answer so this seems efficient. David's family, my in laws, live quite far away so this way they can keep up with us without having to visit too often...just kidding. I love them and would love to see them whenever the opportunity presents itself. Anyway, welcome to the life of the newlyweds, Dave and Riss.
